  • How to Use HSA/FSA for Reimbursement?

    1. To use your HSA or FSA for reimbursement, first complete a brief chat-based telehealth consultation to confirm your eligibility for a Letter of Medical Necessity. 
    2. Once your Letter of Medical Necessity is obtained, simply pay for your services at Mama Roots Collective with your credit card and keep your receipt. 
    3. You can then submit your itemized receipt to your HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement. Make sure to check your plan for specific guidelines on eligible expenses.
  • What is a Letter of Medical Necessity?

    A Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) is a document from a licensed healthcare provider that verifies the medical necessity of a product or service, making it eligible for reimbursement using your HSA or FSA. Check out which classes are eligible for reimbursement.

  • How to Obtain a Letter of Medical Necessity?

    To obtain an Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN), you can easily start a consultation and complete a brief chat-based telehealth consultation to confirm your eligibility. Consultations are a non-refundible $15 and if approved, the LMN  is valid for 12 months and can be used for multiple class and service purchases that pertain to the LMN. During the consultation, they will assess your situation and provide a letter that details why the services at Mama Roots Collective are necessary for your health and well-being.

  • Do I qualify for a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN)

    A licensed clinician will determine your eligibility during a chat-based telehealth consultation. According to IRS guidelines, you must have a medical condition that warrants the product or service you intend to purchase using your HSA/FSA. A range of conditions, such as cardiovascular, metabolic, pregnancy, postpartum, musculoskeletal, or mental health conditions, could qualify.

  • How long is my Letter of Medical Necessity Valid For?

    Your Letter of Medical Necessity is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. It can be used for any eligible purchases made during this time. Be sure to keep and submit all related receipts when filing with your HSA/FSA administrator.

  • What do I do with my Letter of Medical Necessity?

    When submitting your itemized receipt to your HSA/FSA administrator, also submit your Letter of Medical Necessity to streamline the reimbursement process.


    You should keep it on file for at least three years in the event of an IRS audit of your HSA or FSA account. Occasionally, FSAs may ask for the Letter to confirm the eligibility of your purchase.
