Mama Roots Collective offers prenatal classes, childbirth education, and postpartum support for families in San Francisco, from trying-to-conceive through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. We bring together trusted local doulas, midwives, and lactation consultants under one roof, creating a welcoming space where families can find connection, guidance, and personalized support during some of life's most transformative moments.

Our mission is to help guide families through their journey to parenthood — helping parents build their village, feel empowered in their decisions, and create strong foundations for welcoming and raising their children. Through expert-led prenatal classes, childbirth education classes, postpartum support groups, and meaningful connections with local doulas, midwives, and lactation consultants, we strive to ensure that no family navigates this journey alone.

We believe that every family deserves access to compassionate care, evidence-based education, and a supportive community that fosters confidence and belonging. By cultivating connection, promoting holistic well-being, and strengthening family support networks, we help parents grow with confidence, resilience, and deep roots—creating thriving families and a stronger community for generations to come.

Mama Roots Collective was born from a vision to transform how families access pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care in San Francisco—by helping parents understand their options, prepare for the journey ahead, and build a strong support system from the very beginning.

Michelle comes from a healthcare background and is a lactation consultant, craniosacral therapy practitioner, naturopathic doctor candidate, and soon-to-be mom to a beautiful baby girl.

Through her training in naturopathic medicine and years of working with growing families, Michelle witnessed firsthand the gaps in perinatal and postpartum care, as well as the deep need for connection, education, and community among both families and providers.

Then, through her own pregnancy journey, she experienced many of these gaps herself. Navigating the U.S. healthcare system left her wanting more guidance around how to support her baby’s growth during pregnancy, understand all her options for birth, and know where to turn to build a postpartum support team.

We believe no family should have to navigate the transition into parenthood alone or figure everything out after their baby arrives. Mama Roots Collective brings trusted local perinatal providers, education, classes, and community together under one roof, creating a place where families can build their village before they need it.

From preparing the body for pregnancy and understanding birth options to postpartum recovery, lactation, infant care, and finding the right providers, Mama Roots Collective is here to help families feel informed, connected, and supported every step of the way.
