Finding peace in motherhood isn’t a luxury—it’s essential. 🌿✨ The soothing vibrations of a sound bath can actually transform your mind and body during pregnancy and postpartum. Here is the science behind the sound: ✨ DURING PREGNANCY ✨ 🤍 Supports a Healthy Timeline: Sound baths lower stress cortisol, keeping your gestational timeline on track and supporting healthy baby growth. 🤍 Nurtures Fetal Brain Development: Harmonic vibrations create a peaceful internal environment, protecting your growing baby from excess maternal stress hormones. 🤍 Eases Physical Strain: Rhythmic tones regulate your heart rate and lower blood pressure, reducing the risk of complications. 🤍 Encourages Healthy Habits: Sound therapy clears mental clutter and improves sleep, making it easier to naturally choose nourishing foods over stress cravings. ✨ POSTPARTUM HEALING ✨ 🤍 Protects Mental Health: Immersive sound waves act as an emotional buffer against dramatic hormonal shifts, helping reduce postpartum anxiety. 🤍 Deepens Your Bond: Sonic relaxation shifts your brain out of survival mode, paving the way for a natural surge in oxytocin to bond with your baby. 🤍 Aids Recovery & Lactation: Deep rest directs your energy toward physical healing, while releasing tension to effortlessly encourage the milk let-down reflex. 🤍 Restores Hormonal Balance: Acoustic rest provides a sanctuary for your overtaxed adrenals, preventing severe fatigue as your body recalibrates. Take a deep breath. You deserve this rest. 🕊️ Have you ever tried a sound bath during your motherhood journey? Wondering where to start with your postpartum recovery? The answer might be as simple as taking a deep breath. 🌿 Samantha Zgraggen, a pelvic floor Occupational Therapist and mom of two, shares that her top tip for all moms is to start diaphragmatic (or 3D) breathing right after giving birth. To help you navigate this transition, Samantha leads our Healing Your Core class at Mama Roots Collective. It is a safe space designed specifically for the first few weeks of postpartum. Our class offers: ✦ Weekly Online Sessions: We meet virtually every Thursday at 10 AM, so you don't have to leave the comfort of your home. ✦ Essential Knowledge: We cover 3D breathing, self-care for you and your baby, things to avoid, and important red flags to watch for. ✦ Come As You Are: You can snuggle your baby the entire time while connecting with a supportive community and asking all your questions. The goal is to ease into your new role feeling supported, informed, and connected. We can't wait to meet you online! 🤍 #MamaRootsCollective #PelvicFloorOT #PostpartumRecovery #DiaphragmaticBreathing #FourthTrimester #PelvicFloorHealth #HealingYourCore #PostpartumWellness #SanFranciscoMoms #VirtualPostpartumSupport #NewMomSupport #PerinatalHealth

Kinda chic to build the kind of village we wish every family had. 🌿 A place to move through pregnancy with support. To prepare for birth with more confidence. To ask the questions you have been carrying. To bring your baby exactly as they are. To find care, connection, and people who understand the season you are in. Mama Roots Collective was created around a simple idea: families deserve more than information, understand all options and empowerment. They deserve a community they can return to through fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond. So yes… we think building that kind of village is pretty chic. 🤍 Come take a class, meet our practitioners, move your body, learn something new, or simply spend time in a room where you do not have to figure everything out alone. ──────────────────── 🌸 Upcoming Events ──────────────────── Toddler & Me Music and Movement Hosted by Emilia Lopez-Yañez 🎶 Saturday, August 29 | 9:30–10:30 AM 👧 Ages 1–4 + one adult | $40 Restorative Yoga & Sound Healing Hosted by Nirel Salazar 🌿 Sunday, August 30 | 10:00–11:30 AM 👶 Pregnant & postpartum families welcome 💰 $50 | 1 membership credit ──────────────────── Mama Roots Collective Where Motherhood Finds Its Roots. 📍 4411 Geary Blvd, Suite 100 & 200, San Francisco, CA 94118 📧 hello@mamarootscollective.com 📞 415-532-2506 🌐 mamarootscollective.com #MamaRootsCollective #MotherhoodCommunity #PregnancySupport #PostpartumSupport #BirthSupport #SanFranciscoMoms #ParentingVillage

What if a restorative rest sounded like this? 🌿 A sound bath invites you to slow down, soften, and simply receive. One of the best things you can bring into birth? More information — and more time to actually understand it. 🌿 Michelle Gunderson, birth and postpartum doula, shares why she recommends taking a childbirth preparation class outside of the hospital setting. Hospital-based classes can be helpful for learning what to expect within that specific system, but independent childbirth education can create more room to slow down, ask questions, explore your options, and understand the “why” behind the decisions you may face during labor. At Mama Roots Collective, our Childbirth Preparation Classes are offered in two formats: ✦ Childbirth Prep Series — three 2.5-hour sessions, giving you time between classes to absorb what you learned, talk it through, and come back with new questions, truly all an information-packed class. ✦ Childbirth Prep Intensive — a focused 4-hour workshop for families who want to cover the essentials in one day. The goal is not to memorize a perfect birth plan. It is to walk into birth feeling informed, prepared, and knowing your options so you are able to participate confidently in the decisions ahead. 🤍 Reserve your spot through the link in bio. ──────────────────── 🌸 Upcoming Events ──────────────────── Childbirth Preparation — Series Hosted by Michelle Gunderson 🤰 Wednesday-Friday, September 2-4, 2026 | 6:00 PM–8:30 PM 📍 Mama Roots Collective 💰 $420 | 2.5 hours each A concentrated childbirth preparation class designed to help you understand labor, your options, and the practical tools that can help you feel more prepared for birth. 📍 4411 Geary Blvd, Suite 100 & 200, San Francisco, CA 94118 📧 hello@mamarootscollective.com 📞 415-532-2506 🌐 mamarootscollective.com #MamaRootsCollective #ChildbirthPreparation #BirthPrep #ChildbirthEducation #BirthDoula #PregnancySupport #InformedBirth #ExpectingParents #SanFranciscoParents #TheVillageIsHere

Turning partners into pros, one hands-on technique at a time. 🌿 Doula Kim is back at Mama Roots Collective after another Labor & Love Lab — and this class is all about helping birth partners feel more confident, capable, and involved when labor begins. During the workshop, couples practice: ✦ Double hip squeezes ✦ Side-lying release ✦ Breathwork and calming techniques ✦ Hands-on comfort measures ✦ Ways partners can actively support the birthing person Kim gives a sneak peek at the side-lying release — a positioning technique practiced in class to encourage relaxation, release tension through the hips, and give partners another practical and comfort tool to use during pregnancy and labor. Because knowing what to do is one thing. Practicing it together before the big day is what helps build confidence. 🤍 Advanced Birth Prep: Labor & Love Lab — Partner Support Toolkit Hosted by Kim Knapp, Full Spectrum Doula Come learn, practice, ask questions, and leave feeling more prepared to work as a team. POV: You started a small business because you had a vision… and somehow became the marketer, receptionist, bookkeeper, janitor, tech support, and emergency problem-solver too. 😂🌿 Behind every class, carefully prepared room, answered message, working link, clean floor, and welcoming detail is a small business owner wearing a million different hats. Some days, building the village looks inspiring and intentional. Other days, it looks like vacuuming while mentally writing captions and wondering why the printer has stopped cooperating again. 😅 Just a small sneak peak into the care and love we put into Mama Roots Collective to help grow our community and village. 🤍 ──────────────────── 🌸 Upcoming Events ──────────────────── Tea Time & Connection Circle - FREE! “What you don’t rehearse, you won’t use.” 🌿 That is our nurse midwife’s, Audrey Muto, reminder for parents preparing for labor. Still Scared of Contractions? Our advanced birth prep class is designed for birthing people and partners who have already learned the basics and want more time to practice what coping can actually feel like. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore: ✦ Visualization techniques ✦ Body-based coping tools ✦ Staying soft during intense sensations ✦ Partner support and communication ✦ Practicing through manageable discomfort Because reading about labor tools is not the same as rehearsing them. This class gives you space to try different techniques, notice what works for your body, and practice with your partner before labor begins. You may not be able to predict every contraction, but you can build the confidence and muscle memory to meet it with more calm, flexibility, and support. 🤍 Hosted by Audrey Muto, NP, CNM. Why was Mama Roots Collective created? 🌿 We noticed many families searching across the Bay Area for classes, providers, and answers—often while sitting on waitlists or feeling unsure about what questions to ask. The gap was not simply a lack of information. Families needed guidance, connection, and a place where pregnancy, birth, feeding, postpartum care, movement, healing, and community could exist under one roof. That is why Mama Roots Collective was created. Unlike the standard model of care, which focuses on essential medical visits and fetal milestones, Mama Roots helps families explore everything that happens in between: ✦ Understanding your options ✦ Knowing what questions to ask ✦ Preparing for birth and postpartum ✦ Connecting with trusted local providers ✦ Building a plan that reflects your family’s needs ✦ Finding community before you feel alone We are here to help you feel informed, confident, empowered, and supported as you move through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and early parenthood. Wondering which childbirth class is right for you? You’re not alone. 🌿 Hospital classes, doula-led sessions, and private childbirth education programs can all be valuable—the best choice depends on the kind of preparation and support you are looking for. A hospital class may give you a helpful overview of labor, birth, and what to expect within that specific hospital system. A private session with a birth doula can offer more personalized guidance, space to discuss your birth preferences, and support tailored to your family. At Mama Roots Collective, our childbirth preparation classes are led by experienced local birth professionals who have supported many families through pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. You’ll receive more than information. You’ll learn: ✦ What questions to ask your healthcare team ✦ How to understand your available options ✦ How to communicate your preferences ✦ How your partner can offer meaningful support ✦ How to make informed decisions that align with your goals The right class should leave you feeling more prepared—not more overwhelmed. Pregnancy can come with so much information — and sometimes, that is exactly what makes it overwhelming. 🌿 You can read the articles, scroll the stories, ask your OB/GYN, listen to friends, watch the videos, and still wonder: Which advice is right for me? What options do I actually have? How do I build a plan that feels aligned with my family? That is one of the reasons Mama Roots Collective was created. We built this space so families could slow down, ask questions, understand their options, and receive support from professionals who work with pregnancy, birth, postpartum, feeding, movement, healing, and parenthood every day. Because the goal is not to absorb every piece of information out there. The goal is to feel informed enough to make decisions that support your body, your baby, your values, and your vision for this season. You deserve more than generic advice. You deserve a village. “You became a mother, and the world shifted. Give yourself time to find your footing.” 🤍 The days may look familiar, but you are no longer moving through them in quite the same way. Your body changed. Your priorities changed. Your relationships changed. Even time began to feel different. Motherhood can hold so much at once: wonder and exhaustion, tenderness and grief, deep love and an unfamiliar version of yourself. You are not expected to adjust overnight. You are allowed to move slowly. You are allowed to miss who you were. You are allowed to grow into who you are becoming. The world shifted because you did. And through every transition, you deserve care, rest, and a community that holds space for the whole of you. 🌿 Come as you are. What is IUI—and what should you expect? 🌿 Intrauterine insemination, or IUI, is a fertility procedure where prepared sperm is placed directly into the uterus around the time of ovulation. For some families, it can be a more accessible and less invasive step in the fertility journey. In this carousel, we’re breaking down: ✦ What IUI is ✦ Who it may be appropriate for ✦ How the process typically unfolds ✦ What monitoring and timing can involve ✦ What an at-home IUI experience may look like with a licensed midwife ✦ Questions to ask before your first cycle Because fertility care should never feel rushed, confusing, or impersonal. This one is for the mama who keeps apologizing for not doing more. 🌿 The laundry. The cooking. The thank you notes. The body that still doesn't feel like yours. The list that keeps growing while you sit on the couch with your baby wondering if you should be doing something — anything — more productive than this. You are not falling behind. You are healing. You are regulating. You are doing the invisible, exhausting, essential work of early postpartum — and it asks everything of you even when it looks like nothing. Slow down. Rest. Let the your healing come first. Your body is doing something that cannot be rushed, and it deserves every quiet moment you give it. 🤍 ──────────────────── 🌸 Upcoming Events ──────────────────── Toddler & Me Yoga (Free Class) Hosted by Joselyn Jiménez, Birth doula, Prenatal & Children’s yoga teacher 👶 Tue, July 28, 2026 | 10:00 AM (PDT) | 60 minutes 📍The Nesting Room Toddler & Me Yoga is a playful and nurturing class for children ages 18 months to 4 years old and their caregiver. Trying to conceive can come with so much information—but understanding your cycle is a grounded place to begin. 🌿 Your cycle is more than the days you bleed. Each phase offers clues about what your body is doing and when your fertile window may be approaching. You can begin tracking through: ✦ Basal body temperature ✦ Cervical mucus changes ✦ Ovulation predictor kits Start simply: record Day 1 of your period, take your temperature before getting out of bed, observe cervical mucus, and track for a few cycles before drawing conclusions. Motherhood can hold two truths at once. 🤍 You can feel deeply grateful and completely exhausted. You can love this season and still miss who you were before it. You can feel strong and still need support. The hard moments do not cancel out the beautiful ones—and the beautiful moments do not mean the hard parts should be carried quietly. There is room for all of it here. The joy. The overwhelm. The tenderness. The uncertainty. The woman you were—and the mother you are becoming. Your first prenatal yoga class does not have to feel intimidating. 🌿 You do not need to be flexible. You do not need to know the poses. You do not need any previous yoga experience. Prenatal yoga is not about performing or pushing your body. It is an invitation to slow down, breathe, and notice what feels supportive during pregnancy. In class, you may explore gentle stretching, strength-building movement, hip and pelvic mobility, restful positions, breathwork, and trimester-friendly modifications. You will also build awareness around posture, balance, pelvic floor connection, creating space in the body, and breathing through discomfort as you prepare for labor and birth. Bring comfortable clothes, water, a yoga mat if you have one, and anything that helps you feel at ease. Most importantly, bring yourself exactly as you are. 🤍 Join Sofia Carbone for supportive movement through pregnancy and postpartum: ✦ Prenatal Yoga ✦ Mama & Baby Yoga ✦ Restorative Yoga for Postpartum Mothers ✦ Prenatal Yoga & Partners Gentle movement. To the mama measuring her recovery against someone else's. 🌿 Your friend was back at the gym at eight weeks. Your colleague returned to work at six. Someone on the internet seems completely fine and her baby is two months old and you are still some days not sure how you are doing. Here is what we want to say to you — Comparison is not a recovery plan. Every birth is different. Every body is different. Every postpartum is different. And the healing that needs to happen in you — physically, hormonally, emotionally — cannot be rushed to match someone else's timeline. Recovery is not a race. It is not a performance. It is not something you complete. It is something you live through. Day by day. With gentleness. With patience. With support. 🤍 ──────────────────── 🌸 Upcoming Events ──────────────────── Goddess Flows: Guided Mindful Movement FREE Event | Hosted by Wendy Jarvie, Intimacy Coach ✨ Friday, June 12, 2026 | 11:00 AM PDT | The Sprouting Room Only 10 spots left! To the mama who is being too hard on herself today. 🌿 You grew a whole person for 9 months. You labored for hours. You birthed. You are feeding, holding, soothing, and loving around the clock — often on almost no sleep and very little support. And somewhere in the middle of all of that, you are wondering why you don't feel like yourself yet or when you are going to start feeling like yourself again. Here is a gentle reminder — your body is not behind. It is healing. On its own timeline, in its own way. And that timeline is slow and steady, not rushed. Healing is not a straight line. 🌿 Some days feel lighter. Some days feel heavy again. Some days you may feel like yourself — and some days you may wonder if you ever will. Both can be true. Healing after birth, through motherhood, through transition, or through any tender season of life does not always move in a perfect direction. It can come in waves. It can ask for patience. It can look different from what you expected. But even on the days that feel slow, messy, or uncertain — you are still healing. You are still becoming. You are still worthy of care. Trust the process, mama. And let yourself be supported through it. 🤍 ──────────────────── 🌸 Upcoming Events ──────────────────── Goddess Flows: Guided Mindful Movement Free Event | Hosted by Wendy Jarvie, Intimacy Coach ✨ Friday, June 12, 2026 | 11:00 AM PDT | The Sprouting Room Only 10 spots left! Meet Kayla, a pelvic floor therapist. 🌿 Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum ask so much of the body — especially the core, hips, breath, and pelvic floor. Her work helps mamas build strength, prepare for birth, understand their pelvic floor, and support healing through every stage of the motherhood journey. Your OBGYN checks the baby’s growth. We check everything in between from how you’re doing to what your options are outside of the standard of care model. 🌿 Your prenatal appointments are very important, but a 15 to 30 minute office visit is not enough time to cover the hundreds of changes and questions happening in your body during pregnancy and postpartum. The education, discussing all your options, and community? That's what might be left out or cut short. Mama Roots Collective exists to fill that gap. We bring the classes, the providers, and the community that help you truly understand your body — so you can move through this transition feeling informed, supported, and ready. Did you know? 🌿 The first 12 weeks after birth are often called the fourth trimester — a season of healing, adjustment, and profound transformation. During this time, a mother's body is recovering from birth, navigating major hormonal shifts, learning new rhythms, and caring for a brand new life. Yet for many families, postpartum care in the U.S. ends around the 6-8 week checkup. Support shouldn't end when the appointment does. The fourth trimester isn't just about the baby. It's about the mother, too. A warm meal. A listening ear. A moment of rest. A village that reminds you that you don't have to do it all alone. At Mama Roots Collective, we strongly believe postpartum care needs to be better and we are here to support you through this transition. You are not meant to do this alone. Pride begins with belonging. 🌈🌿 At Mama Roots Collective, we believe every family deserves to feel seen, supported, and welcomed exactly as they are. Parenthood doesn't follow one path — and neither does love. This Pride Month, we celebrate LGBTQ+ parents, hopeful parents, growing families, chosen families, and every journey that leads to connection, care, and community. Our mission is simple: to create a warm, inclusive space where every parent can access support, build relationships, and find their village without judgment. All paths to parenthood are welcome. May, Our very first month. 🌿 We opened our doors on May 2nd with a dream, a half-finished space, and the deepest belief that the families of San Francisco deserved a place that was truly built for them. And you showed up. You came to the circles. You rolled out your mats. You sat in the Sprouting Room with your tea and your honesty and your beautiful, tired, extraordinary selves. You asked the questions you had been carrying. You found other mamas on the same journey. You let yourself be heard. The village we believed in — we got to watch it come to life this month. In real time. In this space. With all of you in it. To every mama who walked through our doors in May — thank you. You are the reason this exists. The village is here. And we are just getting started. 🤍 ──────────────────── 🌸 Upcoming Events ──────────────────── Tea Time & Connection Circle Hosted by Amanda Scharpf, Postpartum Doula 🍵 Friday, June 13 · 12:30 – 1:30 PM 🍵 Friday, July 18 · 10:30 – 11:30 AM 🍵 Saturday, August 16 · 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM Free, casual gathering for expecting, prenatal mothers — connect, ask questions, and explore postpartum support. A gentle reminder to all mamas. 🌿 We live in a culture that tells new mothers to figure it out quietly, figure it out, to push through. And so many do — alone, exhausted, and wondering why it feels so hard. But isolation is not strength. And struggling in silence and alone was never the plan. Community is what everyone needs to thrive. It's what your healing needs and lets you know you’re not alone. It allows you to show up as the best parent for your baby. A room full of people who get it — who don't need you to explain the 3 AM feeds or the unexpected tears or the version of yourself you're still trying to find. Mama Roots Collective is for you to feel safe and build community to not survive but thrive. Not a nice-to-have. A need-to-have. 🤍 ──────────────────── 🌸 Upcoming Community Event ──────────────────── Tea Time & Connection 📅 Saturday, June 13 · 12:30 – 1:30 PM 💛 FREE · For pregnant mothers of all trimesters 👨‍👩‍👧 Limited to 15 mamas Join us for free, monthly gathering for mamas-to-be to slow down, sip something warm, and find connection, facilitated by a postpartum doula. "A touch lighter than a feather — and yet it speaks to your baby's whole body." 🌿 Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle, non-invasive approach that focuses on the craniosacral system — the nervous system, musculoskeletal system, and spinal cord. In babies, CST can: Release physical tension from birth, easing compression in the skull, neck, and spine Support nervous system regulation, promoting calmer sleep and feeding Aid digestion and comfort, reducing colic or reflux symptoms Encourage overall physical and emotional balance, helping your baby move, grow, and settle more easily Even the lightest touch is enough for the body to respond, making it safe and effective for newborns. ──────────────────── 🌸 Available For One-On-One Sessions ──────────────────── Craniosacral Therapy for Babies 📅 In-home & in-studio appointments 👩‍⚕️ Michelle Kwock, IBCLC & Livia Ondi, LMFT 📍 4411 Geary Blvd, Suite 200, San Francisco CA 94118 📧 hello@mamarootscollective.com 📞 415-532-2506 🌐 mamarootscollective.com #MamaRootsCollective #CraniosacralTherapy #InfantHealing #BabyWellness #NervousSystemSupport #PostpartumSupport #SanFranciscoMamas #GentleHealing #YouBelongHere

This is for you, mama. 🌿 In a world that celebrates doing, pushing, and bouncing back — we want to say something different. Rest is not a reward. It is not something you earn after the dishes are done, the baby is down, and the emails are answered. Rest is medicine. It is how your body heals, how your hormones rebalance, how your mind finds its way back to steady. You are not lazy for needing it. You are human. And right now, you are doing one of the hardest things a human can do. Give yourself permission to stop — before everything is done. We are here to hold space for exactly that. 🤍 ──────────────────── 🌸 Upcoming Workshop ──────────────────── Baby Bodywork 📅 Sunday, May 31 · 9:00 – 11:00 AM 💛 $35 · For mothers & all age infants 👨‍👩‍👧 Limited to 8 families only | Link In Bio Join us for a hands-on workshop with our craniosacral therapists and bodywork specialists — your baby gets an entire hour of gentle, healing body relaxation. See the initial building process for Mama Roots Collective. Before the circles, before the classes, before the village — there was Michelle, walking through an empty space on Geary Boulevard. Shelves to hang. Rooms to finish. Drape ceilings going up one by one to make the space feel like clouds. Provider rooms being filled with breastfeeding pillows, lactation scales, and beautiful warm lighting. Our community rooms glowing with so much natural light she already knew it was going to be special. And cubbies being built so every mama who walked through the door would have a place to settle in. 🤍 She made it happen. And on May 2nd, Mama Roots Collective opened its doors to the families of San Francisco. This is where it all started. 🌿 ──────────────────── 🌸 Upcoming Workshop ──────────────────── Baby Bodywork 📅 Sunday, May 31 · 9:00 – 11:00 AM 💛 $35 · For mothers & all age infants 👨‍👩‍👧 Limited to 8 families only Your baby gets a full hour of gentle body relaxation with our craniosacral therapists and bodywork specialists.
