Classes

  • There's so many classes, where do I start?

    We offer classes for every stage of the journey, including fertility, pregnancy, birth preparation, postpartum recovery, infant care, and parenthood. If you're unsure where to begin, please take our "Start Here" quiz for class recommendations for your journey.

  • Do I have to purchase a membership to attend classes?

    No, you do not need to purchase a membership or package in order to attend classes. We have our single class investment price found in every class description. If you'd like to purchase just one class, click on the "book now" button to sign up for a class!

  • What is the membership credits?

    The membership credits are the credits used for those who have purchased a membership with us. We have two tiers of memberships, the Family plan and Platinum plan. To learn more about how much you can save by joining our membership, please view our Memberships & Packages page.

  • Is your space inclusive for everyone?

    Yes, we strive to create an inclusive environment. Mama Roots Collective is designed to be accessible for all families, ensuring everyone feels welcome and comfortable. We do not exclude any family based on ethnicity, socioeconomic background, gender identity or any other personal background or characteristics. All is welcome and all families deserve support.

  • Can my partner, spouse, or support person attend classes with me?

    Many of our classes welcom partners, spouses, grandparents, and other support people. Attendance policies vary by class, so we reocmmend checking the class description for "Couples Class" or contacting us for details.

  • Can I use HSA/FSA funds for classes or services?

    Certain classes may qualify for HSA/FSA reimbursement depending on your HSA/FSA provider. We recommend reviewing each class description to determine eligibility for HSA/FSA reimbursement. 


    Many HSA/FSA providers require a Letter of Medical Necessity to qualify for reimbursement. To support this process, we offer a quick eligibility survey (a $15 fee applies) on our HSA/FSA page to determine whether you qualify for a Letter of Medical Necessity. Once approved, the letter is valid for up to one year and can be used for multiple eligible classes.

  • What should I bring to class?

    Comfortable clothing, light snacks and a water bottle are recommended. We have a "What to bring" list after you register for your class that explains anything that you may need to bring.

  • What happens if the class is at the same time as my baby's feeding time?

    Please still bring yourself and your baby! We encourage feeding during class and your facilitator can help support you in any way. We all go off baby's schedule in the first weeks of life and if they are hungry, please feel free to feed them during the class.

  • What happens if my baby is sick or I need to miss a class?

    We understand things happen. If your baby becomes sick, please let us know as soon as possible so we can reschedule your class. If you have an emergency, please send us an email or text and we are happy to support you with rescheduling the class. 


    Cancellations within 72 hours receive a full refund, cancellations 24-48 hours will receive 100% credit for the class added to their account, and cancellations within 4 hour prior to the class will be credited 50% of the purchase price to your account. 


    Late cancellations or no-shows without extenuating circumstances will result in forfeiture of the class payment or credit. We understand that unexpected situations arise, and we're always happy to work with families experiencing illness, emergencies or other just causes.


  • What is your cancellation policy?

  • How do I book a class?

    You can easily choose which class you would like to sign up for by clicking the "Join Us" button. Then click "book now" for the specific date you would like to attend the class and proceed with entering your information to purchase your spot.   • Is there a waitlist I can join?

    Yes, if the class is full, you may join the waitlist and will be notified if a spot becomes available.

Memberships & Packages

  • What is the difference between a membership and a package?

    Memberships are reocurring monthly plans with credits that renew each month. Packages are one-time purchases with no ongoing commutment.

  • Which membership is best for me?

    We have two tiers of memberships, the Family plan and Platinum plan. We highly recommend the family  membership for those who are looking to attend a few classes per month.

  • Why is your membership so expensive?

    We strive to have our membership as accessible as possible while providing meaningful value to families. Mama Roots Collective is more than a place to take classes, it's a supportive community that guides you through the transitions of trying to conceive, pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood.


    Each membership credit works out to less than $40 for a one-hour class, providing access to expert guidance, practical education, and a village of support during this season of life. We begin investing in your family's well-being, confidence, and connection can have lasting benefits long after the classes end.

  • Can my partner/spouse use the membership credits?

    Yes! Memberships can be shared between yourself, your partner and your baby. 

  • Can I use HSA/FSA for memberships?

    Certain classes may qualify for HSA/FSA reimbursement depending on your HSA/FSA provider, though all classes and memberships may not be fully reimbursed. We recommend reviewing each class description to determine eligibility for HSA/FSA reimbursement. Most classes that can be reimbursed with a Letter of Medical Necessity are childbrith prep classes, pain coping technique classes, exercise and wellness classes.


    Many HSA/FSA providers require a Letter of Medical Necessity to qualify for reimbursement. To support this process, we offer a quick eligibility survey (a $15 fee applies) on our HSA/FSA page to determine whether you qualify for a Letter of Medical Necessity. Once approved, the letter is valid for up to one year and can be used for multiple eligible classes.

  • Do unused credits roll over?

    Credits may roll over one month, with a maximum of four rollover credits. Any additional unused credits will expire.

  • Can I pause or cancel my membership?

    Yes, memberships can be canceled or paused according to the membership terms. Please contact us for more details.

  • What is the commitment for the memberships?

    Memberships are month-to-month payments with no long-term commitment. We hope you find value in our memberships and try all the different classes we have to offer.   • Can I purchase classes without a membership?

    Absolutely! Individual classes and class packages are available if you would like to try a few classes first.

  • Which classes are included in the membership?

    All classes at Mama Roots Collective are included in the membership. Though, workshop classes are not included and have a separate fee.

  • What if I exceed my credits for the month but want to take more classes?

    We're so happy to hear you are enjoying our classes! You are able to purchase more credits at a discounted rate of $40 per credit.

  • Can gift cards be used toward memberships or packages?

    Yes! Gift cards may be applied to classes, packages, or memberships.

Community Space

  • Am I able to tour the facility?

    Yes, we recommend calling/texting us at 415-532-2506 or emailing us at hello@mamarootscollective.com to schedule a time to come tour the facility and have your questions answered.

  • Can we hang out in the community rooms when classes are not in session?

    Our community rooms are available only when our facilitators are teaching a class or offering a free event. If you would like to hold a time for mothers to come hang out, please contact us by calling/texting us at 415-532-2506 or emailing us at hello@mamarootscollective.com.

  • Am I able to rent your community spaces?

    Yes, we offer community space rentals for $45/hr. Please contact us by calling/texting us at 415-532-2506 or emailing us at hello@mamarootscollective.com for more information.

Booking With Providers

  • Can I book a provider though Mama Roots Collective?

    Mama Roots Collective is a community and networking platform that connects families with trusted professionals, including lactation consultants, pelvic floor therapists, massage therapists, doulas, midwives, acupuncturists, mental health therapists, and more!


    While many providers practice within our space, they operate independently and are solely responsible for their own practice, services and scheduling. Mama Roots Collective does not oversee or direct how providers practice and serves primarily as a space for connection, education, and collaboration.


  • What kind of providers can I find at Mama Roots Collective?

    Insurance acceptance varies by provider. Please see our providers and contact the individal provider for details.

  • How do I find a provider that's right for me?

    We recommend attending the provider's class if you would like to meet them, or please contact them to individually to see if you can schedule a consultation.

  • Where are the classes located?

    Mama Roots Collective is located in the Inner Richmond District of San Francisco at 4411 Geary Blvd, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94118

  • What is the membership credits?

  • Is parking available?

    Metered street parking is available along Geary Blvd and 2-hour residential parking is located along 8th and 9th ave. There is a metered parking lot on both 8th and 9th ave between Clement Street and Geary Blvd. Please allow extra time to find parking before your class.

  • Is the space stroller friendly?

    Yes, strollers are welcome and can be parked in Suite 100 on the first floor while attending classes in Suite 200 on the second floor.
